Techno king Carl Cox will perform in Central Park as part of New York’s SummerStage series, marking a first in his five-decade career.
No matter where dance legend Carl Cox goes—his name guarantees a sold-out show. With a career spanning over five decades, the techno icon has performed at some of the most unique places in the world and delivered iconic moments in dance music history. While he’s a master behind the decks, the 60-year-old has demonstrated his devoted passion for dance music by pushing the boundaries of DJing. Last year, after the release of his album Electronic Generations, he unveiled his Hybrid Live show, where he incorporates synthesizers and drum machines in his sets while also dominating the decks in San Diego, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles.
Now, the King of Ibiza is set to make history again this fall by setting up his unique production in the middle of New York’s Central Park, which is being produced by Live Nation and the Capital One City Foundation SummerStage. Carl Cox will bring his Hybrid Live concept to this special venue on September 30, and it’s sure to be another fantastic experience for anyone who has fallen in love with his dynamic style over the past few decades.
The billing of Carl Cox is a surprise for local New Yorkers because mainly indie, Latin, jazz, and other legacy acts have been featured in the past. However, this rare treat gives dance fans the extraordinary opportunity to rave in an amphitheater in the middle of Manhattan. It’s important to note that although most SummerStage performances are free, purchased tickets will be required for this once-in-a-lifetime show.
Capital One cardholders and SummerStage members can access tickets starting Wednesday, March 15, at 10am ET via the City Parks Foundation website. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 17, at 10am ET. Will you be heading to this show? Let us know on Twitter!
