Ghastly Gets Spooky and Groovy on New Album

Ghastly returns with his sophomore album, Haunted Haus, a dreamy collection of 15 tunes that’ll make you break a sweat!

Ghastly isn’t a stranger to taking risks. Thanks to his fearless personality and determined work ethic, he continues to blaze on his own path. He wasn’t born with a silver spoon, but that didn’t stop him from following his dreams. Ghastly gives his all when it comes to his craft, and this truly sets him apart from the rest of the pack.

He’s collaborated with an infinite pool of talented artists like new dad Sullivan King, Mija, Lil’ Jon, NGHTMRE, Getter, and more. Above all, he isn’t afraid to speak his mind or share his feelings which is admirable. In 2018, he released his debut album, The Mystifying Oracle, a project that gifted us with bangers like “LSD,” “Shadow City,” and “Black Mamba.”

Since then, Ghastly has continued to evolve his sound and aesthetic, which inspired the creation of his highly anticipated sophomore album, Haunted Haus. The album features a colorful array of house-infused tunes bound to make you dance like no one is watching.

Haunted Haus is the amalgamation of my love for house music with a dash of melodic bass. I wanted it to be as fun and honest as possible. My intention with any body of work is that each song should pass three different requirements; listeners should have the ability to dance to it, to chill to it, or f**k to it, and I believe I’ve accomplished that.

– Ghastly

The album kicks off with “Smoke” with Madalen Duke, a dreamy tune with a stellar melody and seductive drops. Duke’s sultry vocals add that extra layer of sensuality, and it’s only an appetizer to what the rest of Haunted Haus has to offer. Standout tracks like “Fangs” with ALRT, “Bullet,” “Plamp” with Somnium Sound, and “Zone” with Yvng Jalapeño live on repeat in this household.

The opening melody to “Fangs” feels like a graceful sweep along your spine and will give you chills until that relentless buildup begins, and boom, you’re hit with that delicious drop. “Plamp” and “Zone” possess that swagger and mystery that makes you want to channel your inner alter ego and destroy the dancefloor. On the other hand, tracks like “Mind Made Up” and “Burner” deliver that soulfulness and ease, making it easy to vibe in your own world to the captivating beat.

Ghastly switches it up and channels the dreaminess of melodic bass with tunes like “B4U” with Dani Poppitt, “Until the Light Takes Us” with Entra, and “Obvious” with BOYGLOOM. Together, these three songs bring the journey that is Haunted Haus to a gentle close. To sum it all up, Ghastly produced a fun album overflowing with high energy and banging tunes.
