Lightning in a Bottle is set to return to Buena Vista Lake on May 25-30 with a new glamping experience, reimagined Thunder stage, and more.
After two heartbreaking years of Lightning in a Bottle not occurring, the Do LaB announced that the beloved festival would make its return in 2022 back in May. A buzz of excitement began to grow as attendees wondering what the renowned festival would bring for its rebirth as the limited pre-sale passes sold quickly and now, more answers have been unveiled. Today, Do LaB dropped the news that the theme for LiB 2022 is “Where Lightning Strikes” along with even more tasty details for the festival on May 25-30.
Representing the ethos of creating space for connection and expressiveness, “Where Lightning Strikes” will help guide Lightning in a Bottle into the next chapter of the festival. While it has bucked the trend of other festivals by pushing attendees to be participants instead of spectators in the past, the upcoming edition will only further expand on that concept with a new layout, new stage designs, and a fresh beach dubbed LIBeach.
Starting with the new layout, Lightning in a Bottle will mean less walking between stages for those who make the trek to the festival, but it also will give way to other additions as well. This includes everything from the aforementioned LIBeach to roaming Art Cars that will host surprise performances, and a new stage dubbed Junk in the Trunk that previously was seen at Burning Man and will replace the Favela.
The Thunder and Woogie stages are set to be completely reimagined for Lightning in a Bottle 2022 as well. The Thunder stage is set to shift from its bass music-centric offering to a multi-genre, open-air theater and boast of the biggest lineup the festival has seen to date. Meanwhile, the Woogie is expanding beyond its usual run to bring a full day of house and techno beats on Thursday, which should make Wednesday arrival passes a hot commodity for those looking to shuffle the entire day away.
As for camping at Lightning in a Bottle, the Do LaB dropped details for their new glamping area called Atlaswyld. This goes beyond your standard camping experience by offering a festival inside a festival with exclusive yoga and wellness activities, culinary treats, happy hour mixers, and more to be explored. Comfortable lodging in Bell Tents, Kodiaks, or Airstreams will make this quite the luxurious way to stay at LiB, so if you plan to upgrade your time spent at the festival this should do the trick.
The general on-sale for Lightning in a Bottle begins on Friday, November 5 at 10am PT via their website. Layaway options will be available for 25% down on your entire order.
