Never ones to rest on their laurels, House Of Yes is reinventing itself once again with the debut of EVERY BODY – a free, weekly dance party!
When we spoke to House of Yes founders Kae Burke and Anya Sapozhnikova during peak pandemic times, they made it clear they weren’t going to rush to re-open the venue until all the pieces fell into place. With the core mission of “bringing people together” House Of Yes is so much more than just a venue in Brooklyn. They were already planning lots of collaborations, offshoot events, pop-ups, and also working to renovate the venue during this forced pause.
Now as many surviving NYC venues have been open for a few months, House of Yes has finally announced its fall programming. While some of the events will be familiar to regulars (Dirty Circus, Foreplay, Blunderland Variety Show) others are entirely new ideas. Among the new events is the debut of EVERY BODY – a FREE dance party every Wednesday night! This fresh weekly party at House of Yes is intent on exploring new sounds, ideas, and perspectives, while also offering up some surprise performances as well.
Devotees of House of Yes will not be surprised by that description, but putting those concepts all together into a single event taking place on Wednesday nights is truly unique. With previous scheduling, guests might find costumes lacking on weeknights while the most creative would appear for the weekend events. EVERY BODY assures that creativity can be found throughout the week, and the Wednesday night slot assures that less “normies” and more artistic folks will crowd the dance floor. Another unique feature of this event? The staff is encouraged to give out free drinks to creative costumes and enthusiastic dancers – so make sure you strut your stuff!
While it took House of Yes longer than we hoped to re-open, the wait seems to be well worth it. Will you be attending the debut of EVERY BODY on September 8? RSVP for your free entry and let us know if you plan to be there.
