Mija and sharks! celebrate the release of their collaborative tune on bitbird, “Get Lost,” with a playlist filled to the brim with good vibes.
Los Angeles-based artist Mija has carved out a unique space in the scene since first emerging years ago. While most of her exploration has been in the realm of house and bass, more recently she’s dived into the indie-electronic side of the spectrum with her latest tune “Get Lost.” Teaming up with sharks! to create the track, which is out now on bitbird, they looked to put a focus on Mija’s vocals with a danceable beat that features guitar and basslines you can’t help but get lost in while listening.
As sharks! explains, “Get Lost” was created when the three of them were just “messing around in the studio having fun and then ending up with a really cool song that we all loved.” The good vibes from that studio session permeate the track as its upbeat atmosphere takes hold and immediately puts a smile on your face – making it a solid summer jam. Pair that with the lyrics from Mija that explore her own journey as an artist, “And if I get lost at least I found myself / Sometimes we forget trying to be somebody else,” and you end up with a snapshot from the mind of this dance music starlet as she continues to come into her own.
Looking to give their fans a deeper look at the influences that sparked the creation of “Get Lost,” Mija and sharks! curated a playlist filled with tunes that are perfect for driving down the highway on a warm summer day. Artists like The Smashing Pumpkins, Broadcast, Glass Candy, Weezer, Camo & Krooked, and The Cure are just a few featured within it, showing how alternative rock, drum and bass, and more contributed to the fresh soundscape listeners experience on the track.
