Beatport Launches the ‘Mainstage’ Genre Page

Beatport brings the festival feels by combining Big Room, Electro House, Future House, Midtempo, and Speed House together under the Mainstage page.

As the go-to platform for electronic music DJs, producers, and enthusiasts alike, Beatport continues to revolutionize the dance music scene for its’ ever-changing add-on features to the digital store. Since launching, they’ve become known for serving up premium sounds, offering unique music discovery tools, and providing a place for up-and-coming artists to get creative.

Over the past year, they’ve continued on that path by unveiling everything from new platforms to help further the abilities of artists and a plethora of new genre pages to help further define the electronic music realm. Their efforts in making searching for tunes easier for DJs and music lovers has continued on with the launch of fresh genre pages like Dance/Electro Pop and an expansion of their bass offerings, and now the latest to be announced is a new home, Mainstage.

Similar to the main stage at festivals, Beatport is bringing the high-energy sounds of genres including Big Room, Electro House, Midtempo, Speed House, and Future House together in one area. The brand saw this move to be a fitting one after gathering feedback from record labels, artists, and music distributors. This includes labels like Ultra Music and Spinnin’ Records, as well as artists like Tchami who said, “I think that the new Main Stage section will provide a more efficient and tightened up referencing for songs that have the same type of energy and belong to most main stages,” when asked about its launch.

After the past year without festivals, we’re ready to return to the Mainstage. I’m excited to represent the many subgenres of the Mainstage sound under a new genre page that will garner even more attention than before — Big Room, Electro House, Future House, Midtempo, and Speed House will offer some exciting diversity to the genre page.

Jordan Mafi, Mainstage Curator

Not only does bringing together the sub-categories make searching for music more accessible, but it also increases the chances of getting noticed on the platform. These changes will also allow for forming a Beatport Hype section and higher the artists’ chances to make it in the featured spots and the top 10. Anticipate for additional changes to take place as Beatport looks to continue curating pages dedicated to sub-genres and expanding their music categories as they have thus far.

Head over to the Mainstage page to dive into the sounds and stay tuned for more news and updates from Beatport by following them on socials.
