HOFFEY Releases Soft, Subtle Single "Coffee"

The newest tune from HOFFEY, “Coffee,” perfectly captures the romantic setting between two people during a hazy morning spent together.

Last year, indie-dance duo HOFFEY offered up one last uplifting message for their fans with the release of a vibrant lyric video for “GOOD THINGS ARE COMING,” their track with Vincent. Now, the Hawaii-based duo is looking to keep those vibes rolling and make good on their promise of good things ahead with a brand new single, “Coffee,” that’s due out on Physical Presents.

“Coffee” is a perfect song for those who are hopeless romantics but also those who enjoy that comforting cup of joe in the morning. HOFFEY brings their indie flair to the track to create a dreamlike vantage point for listeners as they peer into a foggy morning. And the journey that the track brings with it is illuminated by the melodic synths and tranquil tones that evoke a sense of warmth throughout the tune.

The intro gently starts off with soothing chords and calming vocals, like a gentle alarm clock awakening you from your slumber. Reverbs echo in and out of the sound, adding to the blush of dawn that rises over the sweet melodies. Then, a charismatic build-up arrives to make the tune a duet of two lovers as they explore their newfound bond and enter a blissful state before the drop re-engages listeners with its pulsating synths and echoing bassline.

The distorted vocals play a game of hide and seek throughout its runtime, mirroring each other as the flirty beats flutter into waves of adoration before the track comes to a close. Speaking to the message behind the song, HOFFEY said that “The lyrics in the song repeat “I could get used to you” meaning I want to constantly be around you, know you, your flaws, your dreams, your fears. We wanted to create a song that took you on a journey and left your imagination open to interpret it however you wanted.”
