Hard house never died and ZAW is looking to draw listeners back to the style with his latest tune “Want You” that’s due out on Tidy Trax’s BASSIX.
When you look back at the history of dance music it’s impressive to see how the world evolved and grew beyond the wildest lines of imagination. However, there is no doubt that the sound of popular dancefloor styles expanded beyond the first market rise. Hard house is one of those genres that rose to fame with the mighty giants of trance near the turn of the millennium, but fell out of favor as house music took over the big rooms.
That said, brands like Tidy (formerly Tidy Trax) and Nukleuz still served their community beautifully and kept the genre filled with awesome music. As a banner for the industry’s sound today, Tidy keeps honed in on all things harder. Supporting the continued cause in 2021, sub-brand Untidy is poised to release BASSIX on April 23 – a compilation centered around the harder sounds of house music.
Enter ZAW, real name Zach Weiss, a resident of Phoenix, and his track “Want You” which offers a healthy dose of house-centered dance beats that keep the bassline not only deep but grooving. This one is a bonafide dancefloor filler – percolating bass meets groove-heavy percussion. What sets this above the rest is how the nostalgic melodic elements feel fresh. The chord selections for the break downs and fill elements all sync up to the glorious warehouse rave days of house music! The little vocal fill too throws it back to the sweet sounds of the 1990s. This is how you bring classic sounds to the forefront!
Check out “Want You” below and pick it up along with the whole BASSIX compilation on your platform of choice!
