Paul Kalkbrenner Releases ‘Speak Up’ EP

German techno artist Paul Kalkbrenner has returned with his latest release, a four-track EP called Speak Up that sees him return to his rave roots.

One of the most celebrated techno artists to come out of Germany is Berlin’s own Paul Kalkbrenner. Throughout his illustrious career, he’s consistently delivered some of the best sounds in the form of stunning albums and EPs while also dominating the stage at clubs and festivals. Known for his more melodic, warm style of techno, Kalkbrenner has infected the ears of fans around the world and now he’s back with a new EP called Speak Up.

Clocking in at four tracks, Speak Up diverges from the recent norm of larger than life techno sounds for a more intimate, club-focused feel. The EP kicks off in stunning fashion with “Laser In,” a tune that puts drums at the forefront as it drives forward in an unrelenting manner with glitchy elements layered throughout. Once you’re energized and moving your body, “Eyes Open” enters the conversation with its warmer synth sounds that will captivate your soul.

If you hadn’t put your shuffling shoes on at this point, you’ll want to do so before “Check Yourself” comes on. Centered around its kick drum, it’s a track that will surely be a floor-filler at any warehouse party or club once we’re all fully back and grooving the night away. And if you thought Kalkbrenner wouldn’t end with another powerful tune, you’ve been sorely mistaken as the title track weaves soothing vocals over its minimal beat to leave listeners on a high note.
