in News, Miami Music Week

The renowned Winter Music Conference is set to take over Miami’s Faena District to bring together music, technology, education, and culture from March 25-28, 2019.

Originally launched back in 1985, Miami’s Winter Music Conference has been one of the major factors in the growth of the electronic music scene here in North America. Drawing in both industry professionals and music lovers looking for some deeper insight, the conference continues to help pave the way for the scene to continue to flourish today.

During Miami Music Week this year, Ultra announced that it would be acquiring the renowned conference along with the International Dance Music Awards (IDMAs), leaving many to wonder what the future would bring for this Miami fixture. Now, a better picture has developed as to what’s in store with the announcement surrounding dates, information, and the location for WMC 2019.

While details surrounding panels, speakers, and partners are soon to come, the first bit of news that surfaced was that the Winter Music Conference is set to take place in Miami’s Faena District. The Faena, which was named by Conde Nast Traveler as the #1 hotel in Miami Beach, has also been named the exclusive hotel partner for the conference this year.

“After 34 years, we’ve reached a major point in the evolution of WMC. Attendees will experience expertly curated panels with key music professionals, cutting edge mixers, mentorship moments, and endless opportunities to share up-to-the-minute technology in an exceptionally beautiful and blissful setting, the Faena District.”  – Bill Kelly, WMC Co-Founder

Looking to revamp and reboot the brand, the 2019 edition of WMC will pair a new perspective of the conference with programming that will appeal to anyone looking to dive deeper into the industry. To help accomplish this, for the first time ever there will be two distinct portions of WMC that will target music consumers and industry professionals, allowing for both sides of the scene to maximize their experience.

The WMC // Industry side of the conference is by invitation/application only. It will be the perfect place for professionals to network, build relationships, engage with other leaders in the industry, and gain extended insight from others. To apply for WMC // Industry consideration, simply fill out the application on their website!

Music consumers who are interested in learning about DJing, music production, the culture surrounding the scene, and more are also welcome at the Winter Music Conference this year. The WMC // Access side is the place to be for passionate individuals who want a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the industry. Register for Access badges via wintermusicconference.com!

“For decades, the electronic music industry ran through WMC. It was where the mega deals were done and provided a launching point for countless legendary tracks as well as breakthrough DJs. In March 2019, WMC returns with a fully revamped program that gets the industry back to business. It’s the perfect start to an unforgettable Miami Music Week.”

– Russell Faibisch, Ultra Co-Founder, Chairman & CEO

More details surrounding Winter Music Conference 2019 will be released as we approach the end of the year, so stay tuned!
