#TBT || AN21 & Max Vangeli vs. Tiësto – People Of The Night

Let’s take things back to the year 2012 with this sick track from AN21 & Max Vangeli and Tiësto, “People Of The Night”!

It has been hard to ignore the beef on Twitter that has been happening over the past few days now between Max Vangeli, Zedd, Diplo, and more. While many have chimed in on the situation that has unfolded, others (who haven’t really been around that long) have been left wondering who Max is and questioning his status in the scene. So, this week we’re taking it back to the year 2012 to give you an absolute monster of a tune, “People Of The Night”.

It’s the height of the Swedish Progressive House era of dance music and the sounds of artists like Avicii and labels like SIZE Records are permeating clubs and festivals all over the world. Full of uplifting vibes and nearly impossible to escape, artists like AN21 & Max Vangeli made a name for themselves with sets that kept dancefloors grooving deep into the night.

Having caught the duo over the years at events like Escape From Wonderland or EDC Las Vegas, I always had a blast at their sets that brought plenty of energy and those powerful progressive sounds I wanted to hear. After a slew remixes for tracks like “The Island” with Steve Angello, Ellie Goulding’s “Starry Eyed”, and “Save The World“, when the duo announced their album, People Of The Night, I was absolutely hyped.

The title track itself was a collaboration between AN21 & Max Vangeli and Tiësto, driving the track forward with a stunning beat and guitar riffs that felt right at home. Lover Lover‘s vocals put a finishing touch on “People Of The Night”, giving listeners a connection through the simple yet anthemic lyrics she belts out. Overall, the track was everything that this era of dance music represented to me at the time, something that made me feel emotional and connected while providing an escape from reality. Listen to it below and let us know what you think of the tune in the comments!

AN21 & Max Vangeli vs. Tiësto feat. Lover Lover – People Of The Night – Lyrics

I am just a stranger, in a stranger’s kind of land
On this dusty highway I made my way through the sand
I saw the beginning and I know no end’s in sight
I am bound together and forever with the people of the night
