[Updated] Dan & Alana Of NERO Announce New Project, The Night

Dan Stephens and Alana Watson have officially announced they’re new collaboration together, and we couldn’t be more excited!

UPDATE 3/12/2018: Dan and Alana have announced via Billboard that they will be releasing a four-track EP titled Different Story. You can be the first to hear it by pre-saving the album on Spotify.

Announced today via their social media channels, a new project between NERO members Dan Stephens and Alana Watson is seemingly in the works to take over the airwaves in the near future. Dubbed The Night, it is clear that a new chapter has opened for the two artists and perhaps it means a different direction is being taken going forward.

Originally just consisting of Joseph Ray and Dan Stephens, once they added Alana Watson to the group to make it a trio it gave NERO a feeling of completion. Over they years they helped push the boundaries of genres like Drum & Bass and Dubstep, released two stunning albums, and have even collaborated with other artists like ZHU.

While many are afraid this could mean the end of NERO, others are pointing to the side projects and other releases from Joseph Ray as a sign that they are not done.

In September of 2017, Joseph joined supergroup Pretty Pretty that also features notable names in house music like MK, Amtrac, and Meli. Now it might just be Dan and Alana’s turn to explore some new sounds, and since they’ve been married and have a new baby it makes perfect sense for them to be working together.

While we’re unsure as to what is in store in the future for The Night, we are excited and ready to hear some new music from the project! The art style that is presented in the photo below highlights some new wave designs that are found throughout NERO’s latest releases, so perhaps we’ll see more of their newer sound at the forefront of the project.
