Anthony Maniscalco, known in the music world as Hook n Sling, has had a prolific career. However, in my mind, he still remains one of the more underrated house producers out there. Though he had been playing for some time, 2007 was the turning point in Maniscalco’s career. In that year, he played an opening set for Space Ibiza and played in North America, the UK, and China. In that same year, he was also nominated for am illustrious ARIA award for his track The Bump. Maniscalco was also among the top 5 producers for inthemix, Australia¹s biggest and most well-regarded dance music awards as voted by the public.
Hook n Sling is well-known for his genre-blending house sound. It only takes a few listens to a variety of his tracks to see how dynamic an artist he can be. Maniscalco has released tracks on dance labels such as Spinnin’ Records and Doorn Recordings. Additionally, he has collaborated with popular artists such as Galantis and Sam Feldt.

I have heard quite a few of his tracks and can honestly say I have enjoyed them all. My personal favorites include “Take You Higher” with Goodwill and “Reason” with Nervo. Maniscalco is able to infuse multiple styles into his work but truly excels at creating memorable and moving progressive house tracks. One of my favorite experiences was finally being able to see Hook n Sling live as he opened for Kaskade’s massive Los Angeles show at the Convention Center. Maniscalco was truly able to engage the audience and enrapture them with his sounds.
