Video game fans are gearing up for the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3. This year, fans are in for a treat as Dutch DJ and Producer Martin Garrix is joining in on the fun! Garrix wrote a brand new track titled “Oops” as the theme of E3’s 12-hour marathon “’YouTube Live at E3.” The event takes place on Monday June 13 and is hosted by fan favorite, Geoff Keighley.
Garrix, a gamer himself, drew from his love of 8-bit soundtracks when creating his new song, “Oops.” Through this song, he celebrates the gaming community as it is by using sounds inspired directly by video games and the gaming world. 8- and 16-bit music, also known as chiptune, has been around for ages but could this song be the catalyst makes this sound more popular to the masses?

He also recently spent a day at YouTube Spaces in LA playing Mario Kart WiiU against YouTube creators NadeShot, iJustine, TypicalGamer, iHasCupQuake and Logic. Videos from their battles will be posted on creator channels in the week leading up to YouTube Live at E3.
