What was your first electronic music event?
My first rave ever was called Hello Raver back in 2006 and it was a Hello Kitty themed underground Kandi kid rave, with two separate rooms blasting Happy Hardcore tracks all night. What made this first rave especially exciting was that i briefly got to meet the infamous club kid, James St. James! Everything about this event was absolutely beautiful to me and I was immediately hooked!
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I went to this rave with a couple of my older friends who had already been raving for a few years. I had wanted to go to a rave for awhile by that time but never had anybody to go with or take me to the good underground parties.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
So many beautiful & special moments – dancing at your favorite DJ’s sunrise sets, meeting a random person that turns into a life long friend, being inspired by others and in turn inspiring others. One of the most special moments in my recent history was at Burning Man 2014, when I met my love and current boyfriend.
What is your favorite festival or event?
Again, so many beautiful festivals out there. I’ve gone to many on the west coast, and even some internationally (which I plan to do much more). The festival that changed my path forever was Lightning in a Bottle 2012, it was the first “transformational festival” type of festival that I attended; the energy and vibration I felt from this event was like nothing else I had been to before.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
One of my all time favorite songs is Sandstorm by Darude, it’s such a classic and brings back awesome memories!
Who are your favorite artists?
Some of my favorite DJs and musical artists are – Pumpkin, Dela, Desert Dwellers, Christian Martin, Infected Mushroom, Tipper, Beats Antique, Diamond Saints, Claude VonStroke, Shpongle and so many more!
What are your favorite genres?
I love many genres of music – drum n bass, house, glitch hop, down tempo, psytrance, techno, trap, the list goes on.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
For the past few years I have been fire spinning and hooping at various festivals, more recently I’ve been performing aerial and leading aerial workshops for the curious beginner. I love to inspire others to become more creative with their bodies and find their flow. I was inspired and continue to be inspired by watching others and it’s changed my life forever.
