With Mysteryland about two months away, getting all of your camping essentials ready is key. I have compiled a list of camping essentials that you may need for this festival. Keep in mind that at this camping festival, you will be parking your car in a separate lot and will have to carry your gear. Also, you will not be allowed to make multiple trips according to the Mysteryland Website — so pack accordingly!
Living & Sleeping
- Tent
- Sleeping bags and extra blankets
- Pillows
- Air mattress & air pump (don’t forget batteries)
- Pop-up tent(s)/Canopy with built-in sides or tapestries/tarps (this is a must)
- Folding tables
- Fold up wagon (THIS IS GOING TO BE A BIG HELP)
- Chairs
- Rug (Not a necessity, a tarp or bamboo mat would work too)
- Solar and battery powered flash lights, string lights and lanterns
- Zip ties (and scissors)
- Ice Chests
- All-purpose, biodegradable soap
- Paper towels
- Sponges
- Trash bags
- Ziploc Plastic Bags (for packing up food, dips, etc. in the cooler)
- Laundry bag for dirty clothing
- Instant stain remover
Eating & Drinking
- Cups
- CamelBak or empty water bottle (to bring with you empty into the festival)
- Pack of water bottles

- Skillet, saucepan, pot holders, spatula, large wooden spoon
- Plates and utensils
- Olive oil (keeps nice without refrigeration)

- Condiments (hot sauce, salad dressing, ketchup, mustard)
Campsite Food Ideas
Prep these before you go!
- Breakfast sandwiches
- Pre-made muffins
- Sausage stir fry with quinoa/onions/tomato/zuchinni
- Steak medallions, steamed vegetables, instant rice or dried cous cous
- Cheeseburgers
- Pre-made pasta salad
- Pre-cut veggies, chips, dip and hummus
- Tacos with black beans, tortillas, shredded cheese, peppers and chicken sausage
- Packaged dehydrated meals (store bought or homemade)
- Instant ramen with fresh chopped veggies (for extra flavor try adding scallions, soy sauce, sriracha, or peanut butter)
- Fresh tomatoes, avocados and fruit are healthy whole foods that go great with camping meals
Clothing & Accessories
Bring multiple outfits for each day as you’ll want to switch up your look for day and night.
- Shorts
- Pants or leggings made from breathable materials
- Tanks, tees, hoodies, light jacket, shawl
- Rompers, summer dresses, skirts
- Sun hats or ball caps
- Bandannas and scarves (must have to help protect you from the dust)
- Rain coat and goulashes (if the forecast predicts rain)
- Undergarments
- Sunglasses (bring an extra pair as these can get lost)
- PJs
- Bathing suit
- Flat, comfortable shoes you don’t care about ruining (sneakers, sandals, closed toe flat boots and booties are great options)
- Socks
- Jewelry and accessories
- Face paint and temporary tattoos
- Small bag to bring in the festival
Bathing & Toiletries
- Solar shower
- Dry shampoo
- Shampoo/conditioner/soap
- Toothbrush/toothpaste/mouthwash
- Towels
- Flip flops
- Wet wipes
- Hand sanitizer
- Toilet paper (Don’t expect porta potties to always have any)
- Factory sealed medication for allergies, pain, headaches, etc.
- First-aid kit
- Hair brush
- Argan oil for dry hair
Keep in mind that you don’t want to bring too much. I usually try to go simplistic at camping festivals. If you are able to afford the luxury camping or the more expensive tent options, it will help take away some of the things from this list. Above all, have fun and be safe!
Mysteryland is set to take place on June 10th – 13th in Bethel Woods, New York on the historic Woodstock Grounds. Tickets to the event are still available!
