On last Friday’s BBC Radio 1 Show, Pete Tong selected a very catchy bass record to be his Essential New tune of the Week. The program was broadcast live from a rooftop in West Hollywood and featured Las top DJs playing back-to-back sets throughout the afternoon. The track is called ‘Hold Up’ by YDG and Fawks and it’s club-ready, bass-heavy, and booming. The LA duo, YDG called on producer Fawks for a team effort to create the magic for this massive official debut release. As you can tell, their efforts certainly paid off!

YDG is an awesome combo of bass, trap, and future house production that melds together to create a fantastically raging sound that’s gaining recognition from high-end producers! Just a month ago, the duo teamed up with Shawn Wasabi and Yung Gemmy for ‘Burnt Rice’ which has gone viral with over 2 million YouTube plays! Fawks on the other hand is a DC underground-bred producer who loves infusing his tracks with hip-hop and bass flare. He has nearly 300K plays on his recent Skrillex remix of ‘El Chapo’ and is scoring successful collaborations with Ghastly and Kayzo.
‘Hold Up’ will be officially released on Feb 2, 2016 on DIM MAK’s New Noise free music imprint. You can download it for free today! Check out the Life from LA episode of Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show right HERE.
