What was your first electronic music event?
Waaaay too far back in the 1999 at some dingy, illegal warehouse in Seattle. Omg does that release my age? It was sketchy AF but that’s what created the thrill for me. That and the really, really melodic trance.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
Believe it or not, old choir and church homies.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
I forgot what party it was, but ATB was spinning and I was standing near these 2 girls. We all kinda held hands and cried silently when he dropped a really drawn out version of Ecstasy. Then we just shared a really sweet hug. I was just so thankful for everything in that moment.
What is your favorite festival or event?
I feel like its impossible to pick just one. So I guess I’ll list all the pivotal points that opened new doors into all my party dimensions. My Ultimate game changers were: United State of Consciousness 2008, Electric Daisy Carnival 2008, Groove Cruise Mexico 2013, HARD SUMMER 2014, Lightning in a Bottle 2014, BM )'( 2015. Whew~
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
This too is a very difficult question. There’s just this infinite well of bomb ass EDM. I guess I’ll answer with my favorite old school track Ayla – Angel Falls just because there are a lot of precious memories that are infused into it. And a track that I am currently obsessed with at the moment would probably be Destructo – BodyBack just because its my motivator music when I do my squat circuit training. ROFL
Who are your favorite artists?
Kaskade, Ferry Corsten, Jodi Wisternoff, Daft Punk, Nero, Minnesota, Flosstradamus, Pumpkin, JPhlip
What are your favorite genres?
In order Future Bass, House, Breaks, Progressive Trance, DnB and Polka. Lol I can’t live without Polka. Just kidding, Polka is the one genre I just can’t listen to. I’ve tried.
What do you feel your “identity” is in the electronic music community?
As a gogo, I feel that I am an element in creating an ambiance. As for the community of women that run the circuit, I do my best to be an uplifting colleague. You put a group of girls together and there is bound to be some sort of ego-filled drama. But I have been so fortunate to be teamed up with some beautifully rich souls that seem to be experiencing the same awakening that I have been discovering. As an audiophile, I feel as though I am a voice for the things that I’ve grown to learn about the music I actively seek and hunt. My sonic tastes are full spectrum and I enjoy making new discoveries and having my friends dig it. Music show and tell is one of my favorite all time favorite after-party activities as the sun comes up. Also as a baby producer and musician I’d like to incorporate my eclectic vibes in to the vast EDM pool very soon!
Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself for the readers?
PLUR won’t die if we give it some CPR, LOL. Keep true to the highest vibration that is collective LOVE. I wish y’all happiness and success in all your endeavors. Thanks for taking the time to learn a little bit about my origin story. <3 s u e m o m o
