With Life in Color Miami 2016 less than a month away, I figured I would share my top three artists I’m most excited to see. I have attended LIC events before, LIC Miami 2014/2015 and LIC Orlando. Last year, LIC Miami was a 2-day event literally right after Christmas on December 26 & 27. So I was genuinely surprised that they pushed it back to January 16 next year and that they made it one day again. I personally loved that it was a 2-day festival last year, but that’s only my opinion.
Now my top three artists I’m excited to see at Life in Color Miami 2016 are: Zed’s Dead, 3LAU, and Jack U. Keep in mind these are the ones I’m personally excited to see. I’m not really a big fan of trap, but there are some trap artists I enjoy.
Zed’s Dead
This Canadian duo is made up of Dylan Mamid and Zach Rapp-Rovan who come from Toronto, Canada. In the past I have seen these two perform live and I have been amazed both times. My first time was at EDC Orlando 2013 and my second time was TomorrowWorld 2014. These two play a variety of electronic music genres that have included: drum n bass, dubstep, deep house, electro house. They have also done some amazing remix/collaborations with some pretty awesome artists. My personal favorite is a remix of a Paramore song. This duo is who I am most excited to see at Life In Color this year.
3LAU
Our community knows Justin David Blau better as his stage name 3lau. I have seen him perform three times live, my first time was at EDC Orlando 2013, followed by TomorrowWorld 2014 and EDC Las Vegas 2015. Every time I have seen him, 3lau has not disappointed me. He puts on one heck of a show and is definitely not a show to miss. 3lau is considered as progressive/electro house.
Jack U
Like I stated before, I’m not a huge fan of trap music. I also stated that there are only a few trap artists that I do enjoy. Jack U is one of them. This American duo is comprised of Skrillex and Diplo. They have worked with big names in pop music such as Justin Bieber and have also played at many events around the globe. I have never seen them live, but I do enjoy listening to their music. Skrillex is one of my favorite artists so any group he is apart of is great. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for LIC Miami, since they were the first artist announcement and are the main headliner.
These are my top three picks for who I’m most excited to see. Now your opinions may not be the same as mine, so just as long as you have fun with friends and community at these events, it shouldn’t matter who is playing. Otherwise I can’t wait to see all of you Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend down in Miami!
