Treasure Island Music Festival is approaching quickly and both days are stacked with great artists to vibe out to that weekend. These are my top five artists that I am most excited to check out. Some of these names are pretty common, but I also tried to highlight some up and coming artists. Who are you excited to see? Let me know in the comments!
Between their trippy hypnotic, almost shoegazey melodies gently floating over well timed percussion and their catchy remixes of tracks like Ludacris’ “Party Girls” and Miguel’s “Do You..” Cashmere Cat is a great act to catch and is a solid match for the atmosphere of a festival like Treasure Island’s atmosphere. Fun fact: Cashmere Cat has worked with artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih and Ariana Grande.
Ryan DeRobertis’ upbeat and funky musical project Skylar Spence is sure to set the tone for a perfect day at Treasure Island. With his new record “Prom King” dropping September 18 on Carpark Records, he’s bound to have something new up his sleeve.
Sticking true to his style of playing eclectic alternative style events as opposed to “over commercialized festivus”, deadmau5 was a great choice for a headliner for Treasure Island. Whether it’s his classic tracks we all know and love or new projects, mixed with his involvement in cutting edge technology and stunning visual productions as well, why would you miss deadmau5 at TI?
Appearing out of nowhere with almost no outside help, San Francisco’s Viceroy has a “summer time, all the time” motto that has worked well for him this year, with his tracks all over Sirius XM BPM and a growing following online. His well known “jet life” remixes are a must download for sure. Catch him at Treasure Island before he plays bigger shows, don’t sleep on him!
Familiar English duo Gorgon City will be playing a live show for TI instead of a DJ set – which will certainly make their performance more interesting. An interactive performance should keep the energy flowing.
