I love shopping for and collecting streetwear and other unique and interesting articles of clothing and accessories from t-shirts, hats, hoodies and even sweatpants – whether or not it’s Hip-Hop, EDM or pop culture related. I travel a lot, and I often stick to shopping on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, Haight Street in San Francisco and SoHo in NYC to find things I like when I’m not shopping online.
I’m always on the hunt for something new and interesting to add to my closet, so I was stoked to learn about the collab between Toronto based event and management group FourOverFour and Sian’s Octopus Recordings.
At the helm of Octopus, Sian notes that he developed an instant connection with the FourOverFour crew, boding over mutual interests and affinity styles rooted in club culture, street art which led to the inception of the FourOverFour brand, with an aim to provide a casual yet functional merchandise line, with bold yet minimalist graphic tees and other pieces with high quality manufacturing. Like the FourOverFour brand, this mission statement is in line with Sian’s philosophy for Octopus Recordings – keeping it simple with a high standard for quality.
“When I first met the FourOverFour guys, we had an instant affinity. We almost dressed the same, liked the same music, had similar life experiences and influences-a little bit street-a little high art. It felt like we had to collaborate on something!” – Sian
Their first release includes only t-shirts and bags, and I personally am looking forward to seeing what’s next from them in the upcoming seasons as I’m loving what they have dropped so far. I have a feeling these will go pretty quick so if you like what you see, I’d highly recommend copping some shirts and bags before it’s too late.
