USC Events’ Lucky Festival is set to feature a wide range of electronic music genres to satisfy just about everyone’s tastes this year.

While bass music tends to dominate the Seattle scene, USC Events seems to be doing its part to bring some diversity to the region with Lucky. This year includes a roster of drum & bass, hardstyle, and the wide range of subgenres in trance. USC Events has announced that the festival is now in its final tier price before the show on March 17, so be sure to get yours before they sell out.

If you’re on the fence on who to see or just need a little more convincing to head to the Tacoma Dome to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, we’ve narrowed down some of the top talent booked for the show. Check out the artists below and let us know who you’re most excited to catch in the comments!

Drew’s Top Picks for Lucky 2018

Giuseppe Ottaviani

This is the live performance of the night to witness for those who want to hear some top-tier trance. Giuseppe Ottaviani is bringing his Live! 2.0 production with his one-man portable tech setup bridging the studio with the stage moving away from the traditional DJ mixer.

He’s collaborated with Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, and Solarstone over the years and is a legendary producer in the scene. Check out his track “Legacy” below to experience how hard trance can get and then head to the End of the Rainbow stage to see him this year.

Black Tiger Sex Machine

Hot off their brand new album, New Worlds, Black Tiger Sex Machine are ready to bring you to church with their hard electro sound. The guys have improved their masks, which will further elevate their already mesmerizing light shows. Described as a futuristic thriller, their unique live shows featuring a barrage of drums, synths, and bass to create an electro atmosphere leaving every headbanger wanting more.

Their set will also contain every track from the album to create a brand new set. So even if you saw them perform last fall during their tour stop in Seattle, the experience won’t be the same.

Wasted Penguinz

Representing the hard dance spectrum at Lucky this year, Wasted Penguinz bring their signature melodic hardstyle that will get you shuffling on the dancefloor. This Swedish duo is currently signed to Dirty Workz record label founded by Coone, which also represents Da Tweekaz and Psyko Punkz.

Get ready for a set full of uplifting melodies, inspiring vocals, and infectious bass by Wasted Penguinz. If you enjoyed Kayzo’s recent tour stop where he incorporated hardstyle tracks into his set to get your feet wet with the genre, deep dive into it head first with their set at Lucky.

EDCLV D&B - Andy C

Andy C

When you think of drum and bass, Andy C should immediately come to mind. He’s not only just a great DJ and producer, but he also co-founded RAM Records and is a pioneer of the drum & bass community. This set is guaranteed to get you moving with Andy C’s fast-paced mixing and signature double drop style where he aligns two track’s basslines to drop at the same time.

If you’re curious where the roots of modern bass music originate from, then you definitely need to check out drum & bass legend Andy C at Lucky this year.

Two Friends

Fans of both pop and dance will enjoy the more whimsical side of Two Friends at Lucky. Matt Halper and Eli Sones quickly climbed the ranks of the scene with their infectious remixes, including “Mr. Brightside” and “Trap Queen”, plus their originals like “Just A Kid”.

To get a taste of just how playful these guys can be, check out their rockin’ Big Bootie Mixes on SoundCloud that feature throwback vocal samples with fantastic mainstage drops that vaguely make me reminiscent of older happy hardcore mixtapes.

Music is an integral part of Drew’s life, whether it’s listening to trance or house while working or at a festival. He’s always out to discover new and exciting sounds. When video games RollerCoaster Tycoon and Unreal Tournament were the hot new games, one of his friends that he knew through the community forums introduced him to trance on Digitally Imported and he soon fell in love with trance, happy hardcore, hardstyle and other fast BPM (beats per minute) genres.
