What was your first electronic music event?
Forest Renegade 2005
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
My older friends took me to a secret event for my 14th birthday and I haven’t looked back since!
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
My absolute favorite moment from an event was when I was completely lost and alone during the first time I ever attended EDC Las Vegas. I had lost my friends, family, phone and we had never set up a meeting point since we had planned to be glued together. It was at my absolute breaking point where I had been asked by a complete stranger asking if I was alone. To that, I said, yes and was completely taken in by a group of strangers who took care of me and treated me as one of their own. After that moment, the rave world I knew of had taken another crazy turn and brought me to a new realization that I didn’t need to depend on the people I only came with but I could make new friends and new bonds that could last a lifetime. Even though I had never seen the same group from that night, I will always cherish the positive energy and outlook they gave me in hopes to continue to keep that mentality alive and spread it among others.
What is your favorite festival or event?
My favorite festival currently is EDC Las Vegas, there’s just something about the entirety of it all that I don’t get anywhere else that I have been. EDCLV as a whole is absolutely insane, both at the festival itself and the week gearing up for it all that it might as well be a week-long festival, IN VEGAS, it’s hard to ask for more.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
Lose My Mind by Brennan Heart and Wildstylez is pretty much my anthem. It’s a fun track that hits hard with lyrics I identify which and also makes me laugh and smile.
Who are your favorite artists?
Da Tweekaz are my absolute favorite at the moment but it tends to change depending on the artists themselves if they change their sound or style. Other favorite artists that either have been or still on my list include: Armin Van Buuren, Angerfist, Tiesto, Coone, Brennan Heart, Ran-D, Showtek, Headhunterz, Lady Faith, Marlo, Gareth Emery, Above & Beyond, and Hardwell.
What are your favorite genres?
Based on my favorite artists, its safe to say that Hardstyle and Trance are my #1 and #2 in terms of electronic genres but I have a great appreciation for everything else too.
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
I believe that I am at the point where I want to give back to the community that has given me so much and has impacted my life in such a massive way that I can’t see myself getting out of it anytime soon, if ever. Right now I am part of a family called the Gluv Luv Krew, also known as the crew that rocks crazy and cool Star Wars based helmets fitted with LEDs. Our main goal is to spread awareness for autism, anti-bullying and much more all while having fun doing it. I also help out with Neon Owl and their music media based charities whenever I can and hopefully be more involved in spreading their message and values in the future.
