Dubstep maven ALLEYCVT swung through Philadelphia for a sensational set amid her 9 LIVES Tour, with support from Steller and Tazu.
There are very few people who could get me to venture out of my house in 12-degree weather. Yet here I was on a Friday night, hopping in an Uber to see ALLEYCVT despite the frigid temperature in Philadelphia. It had been a while since I had seen the exhilarating producer in action, which fueled my anticipation for seeing how her 9 LIVES era comes to life through her live sets.
I pulled up to Union Transfer right as the show was getting started, ready for a full evening of earth-shattering drops and top-notch production. After grabbing my ticket at will call, I headed into the unique venue, which previously served as a luggage transfer station for the Reading Railroad.
Given Union Transfer’s capacity of up to 1,200 guests, the sold-out performance was a huge indicator of ALLEYCVT’s popularity. Her profile has swelled as she continues to climb the ladder and solidify her status as one of dubstep’s hottest artists.

The night kicked off early with an explosive set from rising producer Tazu.
Prior to attending the 9 LIVES Tour, I hadn’t heard of Tazu, which is an absolute shame. His 30-minute set left me clamoring for more as he took the sizable crowd for a wild journey through bass music.
Mixing everything from riddim to trap and bass house, Tazu’s versatile track selection was a standout among a sea of openers who stick to the status quo. As the clock struck 8:30pm, Tazu thanked the crowd and left the stage, making way for one of my current favorites, Steller.
It’s such a great feeling seeing women support one another by booking their peers for their tours. Steller’s spot on the 9 LIVES Tour was well deserved, as evidenced by her electrifying mix of energetic bass-forward bangers that got the crowd primed for ALLEYCVT’s impending performance.
Throughout her hour-long set, Steller mixed in a variety of playful rap flips, shiftfreq‘s thunderous remix of “Animals” by Martin Garrix, a massive edit of the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Can’t Stop,” and a slew of her original tracks. She even showed off her new single, “Frames of Infinity,” which debuted that day. It was a special moment seeing her play out the song for the first time since it hit streaming platforms.
Closing out her commanding performance, Steller ended the night playing her and Zingara‘s unofficial remix of Muse‘s “Uprising.” After this nod to the current political climate, the captivating producer left the stage on a high note with a call to action, reminding the crowd that we have the power to unite and resist control.

After a brief intermission, ALLEYCVT took the decks to a roaring crowd of enthused fans.
The venue, now full of ravers in ALLEYCVT merch and an assortment of cat ears, got their first taste of the tour’s production as the enthralling DJ opened with “THROW IT DOWN.” And that’s exactly what she did over the course of the next 75 minutes.
Every moment of ALLEYCVT’s dominating display of musical prowess was impeccably paired with shimmering lasers, vibrant visuals, and blasts of CO2 from the cannons lining the front of the stage. Throwback moments, including a remix of Kesha‘s “Take It Off” into a Soulja Boy edit, saw the dynamic DJ blend in hints of nostalgia alongside her beloved originals.
Highlights from the evening included a sea of rainbow lasers blasting into the crowd during “SO DAMN GOOD,” the synchronized head-banging of the crowd during “OTHER SIDE,” and getting to hear the melodic delight that is “FALL INTO YOU” live for the first time. Ending the night with “ALIVE,” ALLEYCVT’s return to Philadelphia was all gas, no brakes, right up to the very end.
ALLEYCVT has graduated from a rising star to a full-fledged headliner.
Evident by the massive crowd that packed out Union Transfer on the heels of the coldest snowstorm we’ve experienced in a while, ALLEYCVT has made quite the impression on the EDM community. With her alluring vocals, power-packed production, and magnetic stage presence, the dubstep diva is on the road to domination.
