Bass trio Levity returned to the City of Brotherly Love for a sold-out evening of unparalleled production, theatrical storytelling, and fan-favorite tracks.

Chicago-based trio Levity are at the forefront of the new wave of artists shaping the bass music scene. Along with their vivacious personalities and distinctive production style, they continue to stand out from the pack through their commitment to curating immersive, groundbreaking experiences for their fans.

From their upcoming hometown show, Snow Day 2 — which is set to break the record for the most lasers ever seen at a dubstep show — to their current LASERSHIP TOUR, boasting their biggest production yet, the standout act delivers a show you don’t want to miss. As the LASERSHIP TOUR swung through Philadelphia, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the show that had been in the works for the better part of a year.

The sold-out show at The Fillmore Philadelphia was a testament to Levity’s rapid growth over the past few years. The first time I had seen them live was on that very stage as support for Big Gigantic in 2023. Now going into my 12th set, I had come to expect a rousing performance filled with an impeccable selection of tracks. What I was unprepared for was the sheer grandeur of the LASERSHIP stage coupled with an intricate and thought-out show that would elevate Levity as one of the leading innovators within dubstep.

LASERSHIP is unrivaled in its immersive storytelling, production finesse, and sonic experience.

From start to finish, Levity’s latest live show was a masterclass in creating a cohesive journey that will be remembered for years to come. The stage design alone was a marvel. Comprised of sleek LED panels and cutting-edge lighting fixtures, the massive spaceship added to the overall storyline that took the audience along with the trio on an expedition through space.

I appreciated the moments where the spacecraft was activated, taking a break from the heavy-hitting beats and dialing up the theatrics to further tell their intended story. While I don’t want to spoil the fun for anyone who has yet to attend a LASERSHIP show, it was evident that Levity has drawn from their theatre background to produce a playful yet complete tale of traversing the cosmos.

I would be remiss to skip highlighting the amazing team behind bringing the massive UFO stage design to life. Corbin Sharpe, laser show designer for Levity, contributed significantly to the success of LASERSHIP. Consistently tinkering with his jaw-dropping combination of crowd scanners and high-powered lasers, Sharpe’s aptitude for designing magnificent curtains of color left me speechless. Along with Visual Director Alyssa Miller and Lighting Director Owen Howell, the team behind Levity is one of immense talent. Without these professionals lending their expertise, the show would not be what it is today.

Throughout the nearly two-hour performance, Levity served up an explosive set packed with originals, IDs, and tracks from artists they admire. The wide selection of songs allowed Levity to display their extensive catalog with finesse, delivering both high-octane and impactful moments.

Standouts included an unexpected flip of “Hot Like Sauce” by Pretty Lights, their beloved remix of “Come a Little Closer” by Cage the Elephant, and stunning rainbow lasers during my favorite song, “Rising Tides.” As confetti shot out into the sea of zealous ravers, signaling the end of the show, I felt completely satisfied, which is a rare feat.

One thing I’ll always admire about Levity is their activism and emphasis on establishing a safe space within their community.

From the beginning, Levity has used their platform to effect change. Speaking out against the prevalence of overselling electronic shows, the act has taken matters into their own hands by reducing capacity for their LASERSHIP dates.

As someone who frequents The Fillmore, there was a stark difference between the crowd size at Levity’s sold-out show versus the pop-punk band I had seen there a week prior. With more space on the floor to move and groove, the energy in the room felt higher as ravers were able to dance more freely without encroaching on someones bubble.

The forward-thinking act has also frequently spoken out about the importance of mental health. As such, $1 of each ticket for the LASERSHIP TOUR was donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Throughout 2025, Levity raised over $100,000 for various charity initiatives. While their music is what initially drew me in, my admiration for the boisterous bunch grew because of their values and commitment to amplifying worthy causes.

Levity’s trajectory is taking them straight to headliner status, solidifying them as an act that will define the future of bass music.

It was evident from the start of their career that this trio had something special. Brimming with inventive soundscapes and commanding stage presence, the three-member group has won the hearts of fans globally. From the screams sounding out from the dancefloor in Philly, it’s clear the ravers here have finally caught on to the magic that is Levity.

Leaving the venue, it was impossible not to feel that these three young talents are visionaries. They inspire the next generation to stay true to themselves and pursue their wildest dreams, no matter how large.
