After the Tomorrowland Belgium main stage burned down last year, the Orbyz theme will finally debut in the form of a new stage at Tomorrowland Winter.
Shockwaves were sent through the dance music community when the Tomorrowland 2025 main stage rapidly caught fire and burned down two days before the Boom, Belgium festival was set to begin. Guided by the theme Orbyz, the concept depicted “a magical universe made entirely out of ice, [revealing] a hidden community that has been existing under a gigantic ice cap for many years.”
History was made when festival organizers were able to clear the area and construct a new main stage less than 48 hours before the gates opened, ensuring that the show pushed forward. Many fans were left wondering if we would ever see the return of Orbyz and finally experience the magic that could have been.
Tomorrowland Winter has now announced that a new Orbyz stage will rise in Alpe d’Huez, France. From March 21-28, artists like HI-LO, Maddix, Afrojack, Sam Feldt, Morten, Lost Frequencies, R3HAB, ALOK, Charlotte de Witte, Disco Dom, Third Party, and many more will take to its DJ decks.
Orbyz will replace the AMARE stage, which featured the famous eagle installation for several editions. Attendees can expect to see a giant lion surrounded by an icy landscape with red crystals emerging through it, with the design being an ode to the original Belgium mainstage. The stage will sit atop Chantebise, a breathtaking platform nearly 6,900 feet up high in the snowy mountains.
While this new version of Orbyz will be nowhere near the scale of its predecessor, fans will surely be thrilled to witness its comeback. Those yearning for a deeper look can join Tomorrowland’s broadcast channel on Instagram, where a sketch has been shared to offer a glimpse into what they’ve dreamed up.
