Devon James is gearing up for his set on Groove Cruise Miami later this month and dropped off a mix that showcases his deep-rooted passion for a variety of dance music styles.

When you talk about multi-faceted artists in the scene today, you can’t help but bring Devon James up in the conversation. Not only has this DJ and producer been a force to be reckoned with behind the decks, but he’s continued to do plenty more than meets the eye. As the co-founder of RVDIOVCTIVE, he’s platformed rising artists’ music through releases and showcases in New York and Miami Music Week. More recently, he became a partner in Doorly’s Orbit DJ Retreats in Ibiza, where he had already been teaching aspiring acts over the past three years.

In the midst of his many roles in the scene, the core of Devon James, his music, remains strong. Last year saw the release of fantastic singles like “Pull Over” with OTTAVIO, “No Boyfriend,” and “City Stars,” and he’s riding the wave of those tracks and his appearances throughout 2025 into the new year.

This month is kicking off a massive run for Devon James. He’ll be taking the stage at BSMNT in Boston before heading down to Miami to perform at 1-800-LUCKY. From there, he’s got two back-to-back cruises on the horizon, with him playing the final sailing of Friendship along with the upcoming edition of Groove Cruise Miami. Then, he’ll cap off the month by heading to Nashville to take the stage at Night We Met.

Beyond these upcoming performances, Devon James is working on new music with artists like DJ Holographic and has plenty more planned for 2026. But before we get too far into the year, he dropped off a mix for the Winter Waveforms series that showcases his dynamic approach to DJing.

This set was recorded at Pachi Pachi, a super cool, vibey club in Fremont, the old, old Vegas, and it showcases a really good range of my current style. The biggest things to me are versatility and authenticity, so there are different sounds in my sets, but they’re all pretty streamlined and cohesive. There’s a thread that goes through all the music I play, and that’s because it comes from everything I grew up listening to that has inspired me, from disco and house to techno and new wave.
