According to local promoter Audiology Touring, Ultra Music Festival is planning a New Zealand festival with at least three stages for 2026.
Ultra Music Festival‘s global conquest may have slowed in recent years, but the event brand is reportedly adding another international edition to its repertoire next year. In partnership with Audiology Touring and government agency WellingtonNZ, Ultra Worldwide is planning a Wellington, New Zealand gathering for April 10, 2026.
Beyond that, details remain scarce. In a video post, Audiology Founder Mitch Lowe gave the impression that they’re still working out a lot of the finer points, promising “three plus stages” and a “major lineup.” He was at pains to point out that this won’t be a “Road to Ultra event” but the “full production,” meaning a dazzling main stage complete with lights, lasers, and other niceties.
In a post on the WellingtonNZ website, officials said that “the first-ever Ultra New Zealand will take place along the capital city’s picturesque waterfront.” They have yet to name a specific venue.
“Securing the rights to Ultra Music Festival for such an iconic venue in Wellington is a dream come true,” said Lowe. “After 17 years of delivering hundreds of shows across Aotearoa, Audiology Touring sees this partnership as the pinnacle of our journey.”
“Having an event on the scale and renown as the Ultra Festival in Wellington will be a huge boost for the local economy, injecting new energy into the CBD and drawing thousands of people from around New Zealand and abroad,” said Wellington Mayor Andrew Little. “It’s time to remind people of Wellington’s place as the live entertainment capital of Aotearoa, so it’s exciting to see an event of this size here in Wellington for the next few years.”
A spokesperson on behalf of Ultra Music Festival did not immediately respond to EDM Identity’s request for comment.
