Fresh off the release of their Double Trouble EP, RaeCola dropped off a fall mix that will warm your soul during the onset of the chilly months.
Chicago-born twin duo RaeCola has been on a tear over the past few years in the house scene. Known for their style influenced by the city that gave birth to the genre, and layered with jackin’ rhythms and vocals that hit the right spot, they’ve continued to churn out fantastic tracks and sets that make dancefloors move. The latest sonic treat to arrive from RaeCola is Double Trouble, a three-track EP dripping with the duo’s signature, uncompromising sound.
Each track on Double Trouble brings something fresh and unique from the twin duo. RaeCola tells everyone to stop the chatter on the dancefloor-filling track “No Time to Talk,” while also throwing down plenty of energetic grooves and intensity on the title track. Meanwhile, “Said I Don’t Need You But…” flips the script ever so slightly, offering a touch of emotion while incorporating lo-fi percussion and vocals to close out the ride.
To help celebrate its release, RaeCola swung by to spin a mix for our Fall Frequencies series. Found inside are a helping of tracks from the duo, along with curated house grooves from the likes of No Thanks, Cloverdale, Breaking Beattz, Kelly Reverb, and more.
Creating this mix felt like an extension into our minds from our EP Double Trouble. Taking you on a full journey from full throttle energy and 808s to slowing down with some smooth synths and some of our favorite samples. Like our EP title track sampling a K Camp track, we wanted this mix to bring energy and inspo from the artist we loved when we first started DJing to now.
