Dom Dolla, FISHER Reportedly Earn $1.6 Million for LIV Golf Tournament Gigs

Organizers of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tournament paid Dom Dolla and FISHER almost a combined $1.6 million USD, according to a report.

DJ fees seemed to climb to insurmountable heights during the EDM explosion of a decade ago, but they apparently still have room to grow. Australian tech house heavyweights Dom Dolla and FISHER performed at an LIV Golf tournament at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide over the weekend, reportedly earning $2.5 million AUD ($1.6 million USD) between them.

The figure comes from the Sydney Morning Herald, which cited two anonymous industry sources. According to the report, they “spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the confidential nature of the contracts.”

FISHER (full name Paul Fisher) struck gold with the biggest house music hit of the year, “Losing It,” in 2018. And while Dom Dolla (real name Dominic Matheson) rose to his present level of fame more recently, he’s among the genre’s biggest names post pandemic.

Both billings speak to LIV’s multifaceted business model, which combines festival-like experiences with golf tournaments. But critics accuse the Saudi-backed brand of “sportswashing,” or using high-profile sporting events to drown out narratives that highlight the Saudi government’s human rights violations, a perspective that harkens back to the outcry surrounding Riyadh festival MDLBEAST SOUNDSTORM.

Matheson’s come up has been punctuated by his friendship and creative partnership with John Summit, arguably the biggest name in house music today. Only the weekend prior, the two made headlines when their pop-up party on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street was shut down within 30 minutes after amassing a sizable crowd.

Fisher performs next at EDC Mexico in Mexico City on Friday, February 21. That same day, Matheson will take the stage at Palm Tree Music Festival in Aspen, Colorado.
