City of Angels will see Space Yacht and Dim Mak bring surprise headliners to Sound Nightclub, donating all proceeds to Habitat for Humanity.
Just because the Los Angeles wildfires are in the rearview mirror doesn’t mean the work is over — not by a long shot. Space Yacht seems acutely aware of this. Earlier in January, the outfit helped raise funds for the California Fire Foundation at one of its shows. Now, it’s teaming up with Dim Mak on a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser at Sound Nightclub on Tuesday, January 21 called City of Angels.
Over the course of the event’s seven-hour runtime, as-yet-unnannounced headliners across multtiple dance music genres will perform. Some will play together back to back. Organizers have shared that 100% of proceeds from the event will go to the Los Angeles branch of Habitat for Humanity, which has tasked itself first and foremost with rebuilding homes, relocating families to other housing, and providing essential goods, among other things.
A large number of the fires that swept over the greater Los Angeles area first started spreading on January 7. The most notable, which tore through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, is only 59% contained despite destroying over 6,000 buildings and killing at least 10. Insomniac has planned fire relief fundraisers throughout the month, and LA GIVES BACK and Gud Vibrations are each hosting similar gatherings in the coming days.
Tickets to Space Yacht and Dim Mak’s City of Angels fire relief fundraiser at Sound Nightclub on Tuesday, January 21 are on sale now starting at $20 with the option to donate more. Purchase yours and find additional information on the event’s DICE FM page.
