Police say they were called to a home in Burbank, California, where artist and Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy allegedly grabbed a woman during an argument.
DJ, producer and reality TV star James Kennedy was arrested in Burbank, California on charges of domestic violence, according to local police.
TMZ first reported that the Burbank Police Department received a call about Kennedy allegedly arguing with a woman at a Burbank residence on Tuesday evening. When they arrived, a witness claimed to have seen Kennedy grab the woman. Police found no visible injuries on the woman — but after investigating, they detained Kennedy.
While it’s hard to say for certain where the incident took place, Kennedy and his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, seem to have attended a holiday party at socialite Kathy Hilton‘s home that evening. It is not clear whether the woman he allegedly grabbed was Lewber or somebody else.
The Burbank City Attorney’s Office is said to be reviewing the case before Kennedy is officially charged. In a statement, the English artist and TV personality’s attorneys said, “We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James. We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
James Kennedy was born in London and moved to Ibiza when he was 14 years old. It was there that he first saw DJs like Carl Cox and David Guetta at superclubs like Pacha and Space, and after moving to the US in 2008, he began learning how to DJ and produce music. His star rose significantly after his first season on the reality show Vanderpump Rules aired in 2014.
James Kennedy was released on a $20,000 bail.
