Dance music legend Carl Cox is honoring the 25th anniversary of Ultra Music Festival next year by debuting his new Evolution live set.
The hype surrounding Ultra Music Festival’s upcoming edition in 2025 is growing each week. The festival already delivered a stacked initial lineup and news of exclusive performances that will tantalize those making their way to Miami’s Bayfront Park on March 28-30. Today, Ultra Music Festival dropped another exciting announcement as Carl Cox is set to debut his brand-new live set, Evolution, at the 25th anniversary edition.
Carl Cox has been synonymous with Ultra Music Festival for decades. He made his debut there in 2001, began hosting his Carl Cox & Friends stage in 2005, helped lead the charge for RESISTANCE, and showcased his Hybrid Live show at the festival in 2022. His new show, Evolution, will continue with that tradition as he gives everyone a taste of his first-ever fully live set at Ultra Miami.
“This means I’ll be playing my music live on stage, using a combination of hardware and software to create and manipulate sounds in real-time,” Carl Cox shared about the Evolution performance. “Unlike a DJ set with pre-recorded tracks, or my hybrid set that combines elements of live performance and DJing, I’ll be crafting and evolving the music live, adding an extra layer of spontaneity and energy to the performance.”
The Evolution live show will be the closing set of the inaugural Carl Cox Invites stage takeover of the RESISTANCE MegaStructure. While this performance is sure to be the talk of the town for house and techno lovers, the takeover is bringing even more standout artists along for the ride. Joining Carl Cox is a flurry of other acts who are slated to perform live sets, like Stephan Bodzin, Joris Voorn, and Marc Romboy. Additionally, Christopher Coe is slated to perform b2b with the legendary artist, Richie Hawtin will showcase his DEX EFX X0X live show, Dubfire will put his live visual show EVOLV on display, and Adam Beyer will round things out with plenty of Drumcode vibes.
