Desert Air is preparing for takeoff in November and is looking to Jamie xx, KAYTRANADA, Sammy Virji, VTSS, and more on the lineup to fuel its engines.
Something special surfaced in the desert in 2021 and caught the attention of house and techno lovers: Desert Air. This collaborative event from the minds of Splash House and Goldenvoice first took flight in the wake of the pandemic and quickly won over hearts during its debut. Yet, the flights were grounded in following years, with Desert Air only resurfacing for one-night-only, after-hours affairs. Those with a keen eye at Splash House over the past two weekends saw posters teasing its return, and today, more details have surfaced.
Desert Air will make its grand return to the Palm Springs Air Museum on November 15-16 and will expand to include the newly minted Palm Springs Surf Club, which fully kicked into gear earlier this year. The Air Museum is set to feature evening performances on its open-air tarmac filled with vintage aircraft and picturesque views. During the day, the Surf Club is slated to host all activities and sets to give attendees a fresh, desert oasis experience they won’t soon forget.
The debut edition of Desert Air featured a top-tier lineup, and its upcoming flight continues that tradition. Not only will beloved artists, including Jamie xx, Sam Gellaitry, KAYTRANADA, Joy Orbison, VTSS, Sofia Kourtesis, and JOY (Anonymous), take the stage, but there are more treats along the way.
Tove Lo and SG Lewis will make their way to Palm Springs to showcase their newly formed collaborative project, Club Heat, while Kettama and Partyboi69 bring KETBOI69 to the stage. Additionally, Sammy Virji, Avalon Emerson, Yung Singh, Slayyyter, and more round out this impeccably curated weekend.
Desert Air will also feature sounds and experiences from Lights Down Low, Midnight Lovers, and Chapter One. In the coming weeks, plenty will be announced, including after-parties, daytime cultural programming, and more, so stay tuned.
