Experience the grand return of the DJ Awards, celebrating the best in dance music on October 2nd.
Back for it’s 23rd year, the DJ Awards is set to make a highly anticipated return to Ibiza. Now under new ownership, the ceremony aims to support and celebrate DJ culture by showcasing the best talent across various categories. Traditional categories from previous years will return, alongside new ones that reflect the industry’s ongoing evolution. Nominees will be announced soon, and this year’s event promises to be the biggest and best yet.
Established in 1998, the DJ Awards have honored some of the biggest names in dance music. Among them are David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, Tale Of Us, Adam Beyer, Sven Väth, Roger Sanchez, Black Coffee, Jamie Jones, and Fatboy Slim. The ceremony has earned the reputation of being the “Oscars for dance music” for celebrating and acknowledging milestones within the scene.
Of course, there have been many changes in the world and music community in recent years. The 2024 awards will recognize advancements in streaming, technology, and AI as well as evolving consumption patterns, DJ superstardom, diversity, mental health, and many others.
DJ Awards Head of Awards and Events Jasmine Elias shared her enthusiasm for the event’s return. “After a four-year break, I am thrilled to return to the DJ Awards with renewed passion and excitement,” she said. “With new owners, a fresh vision, and a complete rebrand, we look forward to celebrating the electronic music industry.“
New owner Andy Grant added, “Thanks to the integrity of the founders, who, for 22 years, focused only on recognizing true excellence in global dance music culture, the DJ Awards remains the only true and valid recognition of the community’s achievements. With this baked into our DNA, we are now going to build upon this foundation and create something truly amazing — as important to dance music as the Oscars are to film. I am very proud to play a leading role in the next chapter of the DJ Awards.“
As the industry continues to evolve, the DJ Awards are set to honor the innovations and milestones that shape the future of dance music. The return of this prestigious event marks an exciting new chapter for both the awards and the global community. After a four-year break, the 2024 edition is scheduled for October 2nd.
