Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is right around the corner, and there are five electronic artists we think you shouldn’t miss.
The upcoming edition of Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is almost here, with just two short weeks left before Bonnaroovians head out to the Farm for an unforgettable weekend of camping, music, activities, and fun in Manchester, Tennessee. In January, Bonnaroo revealed a stacked lineup featuring their usual eclectic array of genres, catering to virtually every musical taste. As an event that’s been around for over two decades, the variety of music and the vibrant, diverse community of fans are key elements of what makes Bonnaroo so special.
If the already huge lineup wasn’t enough, Bonnaroo always has more in store, as the party truly never stops on the Farm. In March, they announced the full lineup for late-night Outeroo sets taking place at the campground stages, and it includes some huge names you won’t find on the main bill.
With all this in mind, deciding how to spend your valuable time (and energy) at Bonnaroo might be a challenge. To assist you, we’ve compiled a list of some artists from various electronic music styles who we think need to be on your radar this year.
Limited GA and VIP passes remain with Monday, June 3 being the last day for wristband delivery. Be sure to secure yours ASAP if you haven’t already through the Bonnaroo website, and keep reading for our list of must-see acts at the festival this year.
Five Electronic Acts Not to Miss at Bonnaroo 2024
Pretty Lights
What may be an obvious pick simply couldn’t be left out. Pretty Lights will make his long-awaited return to The Farm following hiatus this year alongside his live band, including members Chris Karns and Michael Mennart. Fans are being spoiled with not one, but two extended sets from Pretty Lights this Bonnaroo. Thursday night they’ll close down The What stage and Saturday night they’ll grace The Other until the early Sunday morning hours, so do not miss either opportunity to hear and see all of their signature groovy swirls.
Chase & Status
Arguably the biggest and best surprise of all announced on the Outeroo lineup was none other than legendary UK duo Chase & Status, who were never billed on the initial Bonnaroo lineup. Best known for their drum and bass beats, the pair have been pioneers in the electronic music space for well over a decade and are not as easy to catch stateside. With a Wednesday night performance at Where in the Woods, only the lucky ticket holders with Tuesday or Wednesday arrival will get the chance to catch the surprise set.
Shy FX
Historically, there’s never enough drum and bass at Bonnaroo. Shy FX is another UK talent who’s bringing that sound into the mix this year. Known for tracks like “Roll The Dice” and his take on DJ Fresh‘s “Gold Dust,” Shy FX spins high-energy DnB with plenty of UK-style vocals. He isn’t easy to catch in The States either, making his Bonnaroo appearance that much more exciting for bass music fans.
Jessica Audiffred
Headbangers ought not to miss Jessica Audiffred‘s set at The Other on Friday. Hailing from Mexico City, she’s known for her heavy, high-energy sets and has played at major festivals from Lost Lands to EDC. This will be her first appearance on The Farm, so be sure to catch her set directly before Shy FX’s set.
SICARIA
Another complete surprise on the Outroo lineup is a London-based act who’s been making waves in both the underground dubstep scene and beyond as of late. Formerly a duo, SICARIA has thrived since going solo, from getting amazing US bookings like DEF and Infrasound Festival to performing alongside the likes of Skrillex and Peekaboo. She’s known for playing plenty more styles and tempos than straight 140 in her sets, making this chance to see her a definite must-see.
