DJ Minx is playing two sets at EDC Las Vegas. Cue up this exclusive mix and get hyped for her upcoming performances.
DJ Minx is about as Detroit as it gets. She’s bringing this distinctive flavor to EDC Las Vegas 2024, and fans can sample it ahead of time in the exclusive mix she’s offered up to EDM Identity.
This hourlong soundscape captures the emotional complexity of Detroit house, just as soulful as its Chicago counterpart but offset by a moody edge that only the Motor City could inspire. It nonetheless includes tracks by artists hailing from dance music hotspots the world over. Kings of Tomorrow from New York, Toronto’s Demuir, André Lodemann from Germany, and the Israeli duo of Shahar and Motum are but a few of the artists whose music DJ Minx (real name Jennifer Witcher) has woven into this hypnotizing sonic tapestry.
Having been inspired to DJ at seminal Detroit venue The Music Institute and getting mentored by Kevin Saunderson himself, Witcher’s recent rise is certainly no fluke. Rather, it’s the culmination of decades of hard work and dedication.
In the mid-’90s, Witcher formed the Detroit DJ collective Women on Wax, launching a label of its namesake in 2001 and delivering EPs like Introduction and Airborne soon after. After the pandemic, she gained a more robust international audience thanks to hit singles like “Do It All Night” and “The Throne.”
