Experts Only Tahoe will not move forward as a winter storm with blizzard-like conditions is anticipated to hit the region this weekend.
John Summit has been on a roll during the early months of 2024 with epic show announcements, the release of some massive tunes, and some controversy stirred up on social media. One of his biggest announcements surrounding his upcoming Experts Only showcases, the first of which took place in Vail just over a week ago. The second to be announced would see John Summit head to Lake Tahoe for another round of fun on the slopes on March 2, but unfortunately, the show will not take place as planned.
Much like John Summit, Mother Nature has been a force to be reckoned with lately, and the two collided ahead of the upcoming Experts Only showcase this weekend. Meteorologists have forecasted that the Lake Tahoe area will see a huge winter storm arrive soon, with multiple feet of snow anticipated to hit the region and a blizzard warning in place from Thursday morning until Sunday morning.
John Summit and Experts Only announced that the show was still moving forward as of 6:15pm PT yesterday, leading to a response from many that the show should be called off due to safety concerns, with others mentioning that they would not be able to make the show due to the conditions. Today, the decision to cancel the show arrived as a potentially record-breaking amount of snowfall loomed on the horizon.
Earlier today, John Summit shared the news on social media that Experts Only Tahoe has been officially canceled and that full refunds will be offered. “It really is no secret I don’t make any [money] on these shows and this will be a big hit but I really want to do this for a lifetime so it’s worth not taking the risk and making sure we do it bigger and better for [you] guys next time,” he said on X (formerly Twitter).
Experts Only Tahoe has been rescheduled to February 22, 2025. Those who had previously purchased tickets can either receive a refund via Ticketmaster or hold onto their passes for next year’s event.
