Headliners SLANDER and Alan Walker ushered in the Year of the Dragon with electrifying sets that left fans roaring with excitement.

Inside the quintessential Brooklyn warehouse in Avant Gardner, splashes of red adorned the corners of The Great Hall and Kings Hall. The unmistakable bright and bold Lunar New Year lanterns and other cultural elements swayed gracefully overhead to command attention.

For those unfamiliar with the happenings of the night, the atmosphere at Spring Festival last weekend may evoke vivid memories of the typical Lunar New Year bazaar akin to a bustling Asian night market. At every turn, there was something new to discover. There were Lunar-inspired makeup stations as well as booths offering Asian snacks and artisanal crafts, and a specially curated fortune wall before the Great Hall entrance even invited attendees to uncover what the future held with a playful twist on fortune telling.

The sensory feast that Spring Festival has created is an ode to Pulse Events CEO Luffy Huang‘s vision of blending culture and innovation. Just as the night market served as a beacon of cultural diversity and community celebration, the music events inside the Great Hall and Kings Hall also offered an unforgettable experience for the fans.

On the first night, headliners SLANDER commanded attention with their magnetic presence. Throughout their set, they fed off the crowd’s fervent energy and continued to captivate them with all-time favorite tunes like “Love Is Gone,” “Back To U,” and “First Time.”

Alan Walker carried the momentum on day two with infectious enthusiasm.

Fans eagerly sang along to every word of songs like “Darkside,” “On My Way,” and “Alone.” Careful to include his latest hit song, “Who I Am,” the Norwegian star knew just how to mesmerize the crowd with the occasional shout-out to the fans.

At the fleeting one-hour mark, it became clear that every beat and drop of his music was connecting with the crowd on a visceral level that transcended culture. They knew the lyrics to his songs all too well and were actively participating in the fever-pitch atmosphere.

Another notable initiative from Pulse Events was the feature of many local Asian-American talents on the lineup across both days.

Artists like REMIX, Dyvergent, Cyberpvnk, Auxygen, and Minijoy brought forth unparalleled energy and passion for their music across the two stages. Many of them expressed their appreciation for being able to celebrate such a culturally significant event with the fans. Spreading themes of unity and empowerment, artists like Jom Zeng, GRIMMACE, Orlost, and 4YU also left an indelible mark on the hearts of the fans with their dynamic and captivating performances.

With the success of the second edition of Spring Festival, Pulse Events has set the stage once again to elevate the spirit of connection and joy. From the meticulous lineup to the thoughtful curation of social activities and inclusive programming, the festival organizer’s resounding commitment to fostering diversity and representation in the electronic music scene shone through. In the process, they reminded us that the Lunar New Year is a symbol of renewal, unity, and togetherness.
