Turn back the clock to 2014, and you’ll find a group of passionate dance music lovers who were set on shaking up the blog side of the scene, taking their first steps as EDM Identity. Launching amid the EDM boom, our goal was simple – to provide quality, relatable content about electronic dance music and the culture that surrounds it in the US and abroad. Now, over nine years later, we have not deviated from that mission.
The scene has changed during our run. We’ve helped welcome new festivals and bid farewell to others. Smaller artists we’ve covered have come into their own and become powerhouses, while larger ones have solidified their status. Genres have risen and fallen in popularity. The culture itself has shifted with each passing trend. Much like the scene, we’ve evolved as well. Our core team members, the site’s design, our presence on social media, and more have become more refined with time, but our logo has remained the same… until now.
As we continue our evolution and march toward our ten-year anniversary, it felt fitting to help mark this new era of EDM Identity with a refreshed logo that represents our mission to be your trusted source for everything related to the scene.
The new, modern fingerprint draws inspiration from scanners we use daily while emphasizing our company’s focus on individuality and identity. Surrounding it are frame marks similar to those that you would find when taking a picture or video, symbolizing our role in capturing moments that highlight all aspects of our community.
This design embodies our longstanding commitment to discussing and reflecting on the happenings in the global dance music community while preserving these moments for years to come.
