Ilan Bluestone Cancels Upcoming Tour Dates to Focus on Mental Health

Ilan Bluestone observed, “The music industry and a heavy touring schedule can take a massive toll on the mind and body.”

It’s no secret that tour life can wear on a highly active artist. Ilan Bluestone in particular seems acutely aware of that reality. The UK DJ and producer has shared that he needs to call off upcoming shows make his mental health a bigger priority.

“I wanted to come on here to let you all know that I’ll be taking a short break from touring to focus on my mental well-being and recharge,” wrote Bluestone in a social media post. “Sadly, this means cancelling my upcoming shows, including Dreamstate Australia.”

He continued: “The music industry and a heavy touring schedule can take a massive toll on the mind and body, and I need to focus on my mental health for the next couple of months. In the meantime, I’ll be crafting a new album/content for you guys and will come back stronger and refreshed.”

Ilan Bluestone first broke through in 2012 after signing with Above & Beyond‘s highly influential trance-progressive label Anjunabeats. Over the years, tracks like “Namaste” and “Futuro” have helped him remain a sought-after artist who routinely performs on multiple continents.

In 2021, Bluestone garnered praise among trance-progressive tastemakers for his artist album, Impulse, released the same year. He’s also a prolific remixer, having officially reimagined recent music like “Alone” by Andrew Rayel, “Another You” by BONNIE X CLYDE, and “Saltwater” by Chicane.

By no means is Bluestone the first artist to call off tour dates when under pressure. Earlier this month, Israeli bass music provocateur Borgore cleared his schedule through December 25th amid the deadliest flashpoint in the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “I want to perform in an environment where I feel everyone is safe and when l’m in a better mental space,” he wrote in a statement of his own.

Ilan Bluestone has not specified exactly how long he expects to remain on hiatus. “Your support means the world to me!” he wrote in closing. “Thank you for understanding.”
