Tomorrowland’s 2023 aftermovie features music by the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Kölsch, and Filterheadz.
Every year, Tomorrowland is accompanied by significant fanfare. From the time the annual Boom, Belgium gathering’s theme is announced, music lovers across the world are whisked away into a new chapter in the world of tomorrow’s epic tale. It doesn’t end when the festival itself draws to a close, either. Each year’s official aftermovie gives fans an engaging means of reliving the Tomorrowland experience, and 2023 is no exception.
Clocking in at a whole 23 minutes, the Tomorrowland Belgium 2023 official aftermovie opens with the “Symphony Of Unity Rework” of Swedish House Mafia‘s 2012 smash hit “Don’t You Worry Child. Exhilarating shots of crowds and performing artists at the festival’s 16 stages make up a montage set to tracks like “Indian Summer” by Filterheadz, “Call Your Name” by Alesso and John Newman, and “My Dream Walked” by Kölsch.
A team of 22 people worked on the aftermovie, whose total file size ended up at 49.3 terabytes including all audio and video. It was mixed with Dolby Surround 7.1 and includes music from Tomorrowland’s in-house record labels, Tomorrowland Music and CORE Records.
Tomorrowland came from relatively humble beginnings, starting out as a festival of only 10,000 when it launched in 2005. Artists like Coone, Felix Da Housecat, and Armin van Buuren performed across its small handful of stages.
In 2023, Tomorrowland’s 17th edition drew 400,000 people from more than 200 countries over two weekends from Friday, July 21 to Sunday, July 30. The festival’s 100% locally crafted Ascendo mainstage towered over revelers at 43 meters high and 160 meters wide with 740 square meters of video tiles, over 1,000 lamps, 230 speakers and subs, and 30 lasers.
