A-Trak, Charlotte de Witte, and Adam Beyer are among the artists on the Amsterdam Dance Event 2023 lineup.
Dutch dance music symposium Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is a mere six weeks away. Following up on their first artist announcements in July, organizers have shared a second-wave lineup including acts slated to perform at participating venues as the gathering runs from October 18-22.
Techno features heavily on the ADE 2023 second-wave lineup. Representing the genre’s depersonalized underbelly are underground stalwarts like Rebekah, Héctor Oaks, DVS1 and breakout talent Sama’ Abdulhadi. Accompanying them are commercially successful techno artists like Charlotte de Witte, Adam Beyer, Peggy Gou, and Joris Voorn.
House certainly has a home on the ADE 2023 lineup as well. Billings like East End Dubs, Blond:ish, Dennis Ferrer, CamelPhat and Hernan Cattaneo each occupy different ranges of the genre’s vibrant and culturally diverse create spectrum.
Albeit few and far between, EDM headliners also appear on the second-wave lineup. The fun and festival-ready sounds of Fedde Le Grand, Dillon Francis, and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano will offer an effervescent counterbalance to the aforementioned artists.
Amsterdam Dance Event debuted in 1996 and has annually expanded to include more and more venues, promoters, record labels, and performers. Today, it bills over 2,500 artists and 600 speakers across 200 venues. Part conference, part festival, all dance music, ADE offers a one-of-a-kind temperature check of the state of dance music each year.
ADE Arts & Culture is a feature of the annual gathering that will celebrate its third anniversary in 2023. Among its offerings are Nicole Beutler‘s interactive theatre piece, ATMEN, and film programs at theaters such as Melkweg Cinema, Kriterion, and Eye Filmmuseum. Some ADE Arts & Culture attractions are interdisciplinary and simple confined to a single medium.
