SoCal-based artist Soraya takes the reins of our Summer Sessions mix series and offers a helping of indie dance vibes perfect for the season.
If you’ve been searching for a new DJ to fall in love with this summer, then there’s no doubt that Soraya should be on your shortlist. This year has seen the Southern California-based DJ continue to hone her unique style behind the decks as she explores the reaches of indie dance and dark disco while curating memorable experiences along the way. Not only has Soraya created magical moments at festivals like Love Machine, but she’s captivated crowds at clubs and underground parties near and far with impressive performances at NOVA SD, Spin Nightclub, and Academy LA, among others.
There’s plenty more on the horizon for Soraya this summer as well. Tonight, she’s slated to take the stage at Midnight Lovers’ Open-Air Affair in Los Angeles under the Sixth Street Bridge alongside Adam Auburn, Lisbona Sisters, and My Friend Catie. And on August 27, she’ll return to San Diego to make her debut at Camino Riviera in support of legendary artist Andhim.
Over the last year, I feel as if I’ve really stepped into my sound- I’ve drawn so much inspiration from artists across the globe such as Adam Ten, Elif, Sam Shure, and a lot of acts coming out of Tel Aviv. The indie dance genre is just emerging here in the States and I’m excited to help bring the sound to every audience that I have the opportunity to play for. Now that I’ve started working on my debut EP, it’s been exciting to translate the sound that I’ve been developing as a DJ since I was eighteen into my own original music.

Soraya graced our Summer Sessions series with a stunning mix last summer that was filled with quality vibes, and we’ve invited her back for another round during this year’s edition.
