Legendary artist deadmau5 will take the stage at the Fabulous Historic Commercial Center Block Party on Thursday during EDC Week.
As thousands of dance music lovers from around the world descend upon Sin City to experience all that EDC Las Vegas has to offer, the city has lit itself up with a plethora of events to experience. Many have set their sights on the happenings during EDC Week, which will see massive artists and rising stars alike dominate the nightclubs, day clubs, and unique venues that Las Vegas has to offer. But there was one more surprise in store from an even more surprising host – Clark County. The local government will host its Fabulous Historic Commercial Center Block Party and bring deadmau5 along for the ride.
Set to take place on Thursday, May 18, at, you guessed it, the Historic Commercial Center in Las Vegas, this one-night affair is absolutely free for all who want to attend. Gates for the event open at 6pm with Bella Strings taking the stage at 7pm before Franky Perez joins in on the fun at 8pm. Then at 9pm, deadmau5 will hit the decks on top of the Forest House art car and get everyone moving on the dancefloor until the end of the event.
“Historic Commercial Center has a storied place in the history of Las Vegas,” said County Commissioner Ross Miller. “This incredible ‘Fabulous Commercial Center Block Party’ will be exciting and a lot of fun. But it is also part of a larger effort to focus the community’s attention on the area so that we can grow it together.”
There’s much more beyond the music at the Fabulous Historic Commercial Center Block Party as well. The original El Pulpo Mecanico will be making its debut in Las Vegas at this event, while other art installations will include Abram Santa Cruz/Liquid Pixel’s Electric Dandelions and Lindsay Glatz’s Cloud Swings. Additionally, there will be dozens of local artists, food trucks, and drink stations, not to mention that attendees will be able to shop and eat at the center’s businesses as well.
