Beatport’s newest documentary film series Off The Record dives into the behind-the-scenes of some of the biggest electronic artists.
Beatport is strengthening its commitment to providing a platform for electronic music DJs to expand their presence and share their stories with the global community. While they have previously hosted a series of livestreams to raise funds for multiple charity events, the global music company has now launched its latest documentary film series, Off The Record, to spotlight some of the biggest electronic names today and their exclusive stories.
Kicking off with Ukrainian DJ, Nastia, the inaugural episode is available on YouTube with a recent private screening in London, where both she and Ralph Moore from Acetate Management were present to grace the event with a special Q&A discussion. The first project provides the viewers with a deeper understanding of Nastia’s journey as a Ukrainian born to a small family in a tiny village as she struggles with her chaotic life after being coerced to relocate to Amsterdam and being separated from her family due to the war. The techno powerhouse, who has carved out her own unique lane in the dance music space, demonstrates her resiliency and determination to raise awareness about the situation in her beloved hometown through her expanded platforms.
In the 30-minute documentary, Nastia shares candid accounts of her experiences growing up in a small town and navigating the challenges of thriving on the international stage throughout the years. Her unshakable musical passion and conscientious mindset to give back to her country radiate throughout the film as the viewers get a sense of the struggles outside of all the glitz and glamour of her unparalleled achievements in the electronic music scene.
With already a bag full of accolades in her musical career, Nastia is now using her voice to champion her own fundraising campaign, “NECHTO for Ukraine“, in which all proceeds will be directly transferred to the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund. Her passion to make a difference in the lives of many refugees amplifies the power of dance music and the collective strength of bringing people together in solidarity during a time of isolation. Stay tuned to upcoming episodes of Off The Record for more inspiring and personal stories from other DJs.
