The show won’t go on at STORY Miami during Miami Music Week this year after Spring Break shootings prompted a curfew in South Beach.
As dance music lovers from all over the planet continue to flock to Miami for the massive return of Miami Music Week this year, they might also face frustration as a curfew was recently imposed on the area. Miami Beach declared a state of emergency earlier this week after a dangerous Spring Break weekend left five people shot. While the imposed 12am curfew in Miami Beach has not affected the shows outside of the South Beach area that are set to take place this week, STORY Miami just announced that all of their shows have been canceled from tonight on.
This news comes as a big blow to those who were planning to attend shows at the renowned nightclub as the curfew is set to be lifted on Monday, March 28 at 6am. This included anticipated performances from Loud Luxury, David Guetta and Morten’s Future Rave, Kaskade, Galantis, and Above & Beyond who were all set to take the stage throughout Miami Music Week.
“Due to Miami Beach imposed curfew we will be temporarily closed tonight – Sunday,” said the statement posted just an hour ago to their social media accounts. Those who had purchased tickets to these shows will receive a full refund automatically. All hope is not lost though, as LIV, which is in the mid-beach area, will remain open and operate under their normally scheduled hours.
Stay tuned for more updates on Miami Music Week as we follow the ongoing impact of this imposed curfew. Were you planning on attending a show at STORY Miami this year? Let us know in the comments.
