Beyond Wonderland SoCal 2015 || Maggie’s Top 10 Must See Artists

Beyond Wonderland: Southern California is just 3 weeks away, returning to the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, CA! In addition to the amazing stages and art installations that we have come to expect with any Insomniac event, Beyond SoCal has also given headliners the option of camping this year. As if that was not exciting enough, they have put together a wonderfully diverse lineup sure to satisfy everyone in your group. Here are my top ten suggested artists to see at Beyond Wonderland Southern California 2015.

FRIDAY

Dillon Francis– If you haven’t seen Dillon Francis live, you should. He’s great. There isn’t a genre he hasn’t dominated. He’ll pack moombahton, trap, and electro-house all into one set, and pair it with hilarious graphics. You’ll be dancing the entire time. If we’re lucky DJ Hanzel will make an appearance, and we can all go one deeper with him.

Green Velvet– Green Velvet is everything. He will give you a dope history lesson in techno music. He’ll hit you with those laser beams and leave you walking around like you’re bigger than Prince.

GTA-Say what you will about Trap, but I like it. It’s a perfect combination of two of my favorite genres of music (Hip Hop and EDM). That being said, GTA is one of my favorite Trap artists. You better assemble your twerk team in advance, because they’re amazing remixes and original tracks will blow you away.

Myon and Shane 54– If you’re looking for that “feel good” moment of the weekend where you throw your hands up in the air while shouting the words to a heart felt song, Myon and Shane 54 will give you that. I saw them last August at Summerset in Wisconsin, and did this exact thing when they played “Strangers”. You’ll definitely be emotionally connected to their entire set.

Tiesto– Tiesto is one of biggest artists featured on this lineup. He just won his first Grammy for his remix of John Legend’s “All of Me”, and he’s been ranked #1 on DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ Poll 3 years in a row. He’s definitely worth seeing at least once in your life.

SATURDAY

Art Department– It’s hard to pin Art Department into one genre. They’re a bit of techno, mixed with house, and even a little funk. If you’re to step out of your comfort zone and hear some truly unique and creative music this Canadian duo will be the act to see.

Benny Benassi– Benny Benassi is an absolute legend in the world of EDM. His career is older than most of the people who will be attending the festival. With his infinite numbers of hits, he’s definitely worth checking out.

Brillz– Brillz is another great trap artist. His full-length album “TWONK” was a hit, along with his remix album “Re-Twonked”. That being said, he’s guaranteed to play an amazing set with sick beats.

DJ Jazzy Jeff– Let’s take a second and ignore the fact he’s a great Hip Hop DJ who will be sure to keep the crowd bumping throughout his entire set. You might remember him as half of DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince. Yes, Jazz from “The Fresh Prince of Bellaire”! Even if you’re not into Hip Hop, you should check him out because you probably grew up watching this guy on tv, and you can reminisce with all of your friends and spend the rest of your night reciting the theme song to “The Fresh Prince of Bellaire”.

z-trip– If you’re looking for a break from the EDM, Z-Trip will be your man. His music has a really cool hip-hop vibe with a mixture of rock, and even a bit of jazz. Known as the Godfather of Mashup, and crowned 2009’s “America’s Best DJ”, he’s been a staple at almost every major music festival in America. He will definitely be a crowd pleaser with his versatile style….that rhymes.

Set times have yet to be released, but that information along with FAQ can be found at socal.beyondwonderland.com when available. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, 2 Day Passes,Single Day Passes, are still available in addition to shuttle passes.
