What was your first electronic music event?
Living in San Diego I started off hitting up a lot of underground events here & there filled with local DJs at all sorts of warehouses. My first massive event was on NYE. Together As One 09-10 in LA.
What/who influenced you to attend your first event?
I had a lot of friends throughout high school who used to always travel to around SD & LA for events. Seeing all their photos & videos made got me so excited. I had to go to one! I got a group of friends together & it’s been going on ever since! Another big influence for me was stumbling across Paul van Dyk’s ‘Politics of Dancing Vol 2’ compilation. Ever since I heard that album, I didn’t turn back.
What is one moment from an event that was special and why?
That’s a tough one… There’s too many. Every single moment I’ve had at events are just as special as the other ones! Seeing Above & Beyond open with Good for Me Vs Trapeze at EDC 2010. Finally seeing Neptune Project at Dreamstate SF. Finally having the chance to experience an all trance event of that caliber was something else. The music was perfect, vibes were on point, and all the people I met there that I’ll never forget!
What is your favorite festival or event?
Dreamstate!! As you can tell I eat, bleed, breathe trance music. Ever since Insomniac started bringing back trance to the masses, both events have been life-changing for me.
What is your favorite electronic song and why?
I can’t simply put just one song. Hahaha.
Who are your favorite artists?
John Askew, Harmonic Rush, Lostly, Roald Velden, Alex H, Matrix & Futurebound, & Feint.
What are your favorite genres?
Trance trance trance trance trance. Uplifting, tech, psy & everything in between!
What do you feel your “Identity” is in the electronic music community?
I’m definitely the adventurous one. I’m usually the one who plans the dates, hotels, etc for everyone as well as a few spots to sight see when we’re out of town. The traveling part of going to these events are actually one of the best things about it! Nothing better than filling your car up with your friends for a drive out to an event!
