DJ Snake to Take Month Off of Touring Due to Surgery

After “battling a health issue for a while,” DJ Snake must cancel a month’s worth of gigs in order to recover from an upcoming medical operation.

DJ Snake must undergo surgery sometime in early February, forcing him to pull out of a series of upcoming performances.

The French trap music hitmaker shared the news with his fan base in posts across his social media channels. “I’ve been battling a health issue for a while, and it’s finally caught up with me,” he wrote. “After talking with my doctors, I need to have surgery in early February. It’s something I can’t push or delay anymore, and I’ll need a month to fully rest and recover after that.”

This means that DJ Snake (real name William Sami Étienne Grigahcine) must call off his six-stop Indian tour slated to begin in Kolkata on February 6 and conclude in Delhi NCR on February 15. The run of dates organized in partnership with Sunburn Arena was originally slated for September-October 2025, but was canceled “due to unforeseen production and logistical challenges.”

“…That decision has been incredibly hard,” wrote Grigahcine. “But I need to get back to 100% and this is the only way. Thank you for your love & understanding. I’ll be back soon, stronger than before.”

Starting out as a DJ in the French club scene, Grigahcine started producing his own music in the mid 2000s and worked on Lady Gaga’s 2011 album, Born This Way. In the years that followed, singles like “Turn Down For What” featuring Lil Jon and “You Know You Like It” with AlunaGeorge put him on the EDM map amid the trap music heyday. Albums like 2016’s Encore, 2019’s Carte Blanche, and 2025’s Nomad have enabled him to continue riding that momentum.

Following a performance at Igloofest in Montreal on January 26, DJ Snake’s tour schedule does not show any upcoming gigs until his appearance at Ultra Music Festival, which is slated for March 27-29 in Miami.
